Just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary celebration on your priesthood & as I can’t make tonight, convey a prayer of encouragement for you to continue your mission to help save souls. Something all priests should be focussed on but surprisingly few remain steadfast. To mention or encourage Priests to call for conversion or recall traditional teaching void of recent encyclicals is often seen as a dirty word. I have enjoyed our candid conversations since 2022, as I know first hand few religious are interested in such conversation.
I know your daily parish workload is high, and hope you find retreat in your time away - and hope you are able to stay in touch with the latest appointments out of Rome as they will directly effect all Catholics & religious - through what teachings & priestly practices and vestments they are or will eventually promote. Laudato Si & Fiducia Supplicans are just two recent encyclicals that recent appointments love, and not surprisingly they are possibly the two most worldly ones, this is significant in our times. Just 1% of heterodox can be very dangerous over time, as it’s traditionally been the hardest to spot for the layman while it helps form many in their faith, but we now seem to be moving headlong into a phase of total engagement of teaching faithful to embrace what was once considered heresy. Yes there is confusion amongst parishioners in what is Truth, but sadly I now see many just accepting the direction being taken through sheer persistence over time. The longer these errors are supported, (without correction) the truer they have apparently come. Many can not persevere in Truth, so they are unable to push back against errors which are simply accepted as fact in godless society, and sadly are now becoming broadly accepted within the Church, headed by and reflected in the appointments being made.
As with the volatility in the Middle East where no peace will be sustained, I’m certain we won’t need to wait much longer before a clear rupture takes place in Rome which the appointments will help deliver, selling them as a must do response to solve modern man’s problems and unusual situations.
I pray for your continued steadfast adherence to faithful catechising of your parishes. I have seen many parishes around Australia and discussed non-negotiable’s and sadly what was once known as compromise has become a revelation of “new understanding”. I pray for 6 to 96 year olds as theres a pandemic of following the leader. Few can just listen to their heart and discern if something is heterodox or not. Many are not equiped to discern what’s coming out of Rome with regards to ecumenism, same sex, environmental focus groups and ecclesial women leadership over religious orders. I pray for wisdom for all, conversion on many levels, as I know physical efforts against the wave of erroneous teachings sadly have little effect now. Priests through action to lead their sheep to safety, even if the parishioners don’t have the capacity to fully understand the Good Sheppards words is really the only way now many church goers will be able to avert away from accepting apostasy as truth.
In summary I, like many appreciate and are drawn to your faithfulness in a spiritually darkening world. While I was reading this post I was thinking about an analogy of a gym.
Why do people go to the gym? To get physically fit, right?
Why don't they just exercise at home? 1) Because they know professional instruction will help them get fit faster, without injury; 2) because being around others desiring physical fitness encourages them in their efforts; 3) because the example of the instructors helps them to learn what needs to be done, and how to do it; 4) because there is a higher sort of discipline required of them when they make a commitment to a class or personal trainer.
So, what if the gym changes ownership, and the focus changes from helping people become physically fit to "accompaniment" with them on their "journey to health," where the trainer never mentions unpleasant things like diet or exercise, nor encourages them to persevere in, let alone start, a training plan, but simply meets with them several times a week and engages with them in "dialogue" and "listening?"
Well, I guess that's some kind of nice in a banal kind of way, but it's not a gym anymore, but more of a paid friendship club for lonely, bored people who might like to be physically fit, but don't want to do all that sweating and changing of habits that would be required. And they believe that if they just pay their membership and show up a couple of times a week, they are going to magically become physically fit, because they're going to the gym, right?
So who would join a gym that isn't going to work with them and guide them to become as physically healthy as they can be?
And who would join a Church that isn't going to work with them and guide them to become saints, but only provide some kind of banal niceness to lonely, bored people that demands nothing from them?
The people that conceived of this and, even more so, those implementing it, are the epitome of evil.
(Epilogue: Remember, though, even if the gym stops providing the services to help one become physically fit, a person can still choose to do the things the gym used to teach, and get the same help the gym used to provide, and can still work to become physically fit, but the expectation that the gym will provide that help is unrealistic, until, of course, (which is bound to happen), it is taken over by new management who understands its original purpose and function. Good analogy. I would add that both adhering to the V2 church & going to the gym are occasions of sin which should be avoided, the latter on account of how females dress in them. I use various dumbells & a chair at home & get pretty good results. For those who want to do the same, the proper sequence is warm-up, stretch, then lift, the first set of each exercise being a lighter warm-up set. Save time, save $, save your eyes from concupiscence-laden sights.
Well, since it is merely an analogy, we can set the parameters that the issue is not the near occasions of sin, assuming the danger exists in both places.
It is also not perfect in other ways, such as we go to church to worship God, not primarily to pursue self-improvement, although that is an aspect. Also, there is no analogy I can think of that gives us the same sort of benefit we get in the sacraments, which we can only receive from the Church, and that we cannot replace on our own.

To mention or encourage Priests to call for conversion or recall traditional teaching void of recent encyclicals is often seen as a dirty word. I have enjoyed our candid conversations since 2022, as I know first hand few religious are interested in such conversation.
I know your daily parish workload is high, and hope you find retreat in your time away - and hope you are able to stay in touch with the latest appointments out of Rome as they will directly effect all Catholics & religious - through what teachings & priestly practices and vestments they are or will eventually promote. Laudato Si & Fiducia Supplicans are just two recent encyclicals that recent appointments love, and not surprisingly they are possibly the two most worldly ones, this is significant in our times. Just 1% of heterodox can be very dangerous over time, as it’s traditionally been the hardest to spot for the layman while it helps form many in their faith, but we now seem to be moving headlong into a phase of total engagement of teaching faithful to embrace what was once considered heresy. Yes there is confusion amongst parishioners in what is Truth, but sadly I now see many just accepting the direction being taken through sheer persistence over time. The longer these errors are supported, (without correction) the truer they have apparently come. Many can not persevere in Truth, so they are unable to push back against errors which are simply accepted as fact in godless society, and sadly are now becoming broadly accepted within the Church, headed by and reflected in the appointments being made.
As with the volatility in the Middle East where no peace will be sustained, I’m certain we won’t need to wait much longer before a clear rupture takes place in Rome which the appointments will help deliver, selling them as a must do response to solve modern man’s problems and unusual situations.
I pray for your continued steadfast adherence to faithful catechising of your parishes. I have seen many parishes around Australia and discussed non-negotiable’s and sadly what was once known as compromise has become a revelation of “new understanding”. I pray for 6 to 96 year olds as theres a pandemic of following the leader. Few can just listen to their heart and discern if something is heterodox or not. Many are not equiped to discern what’s coming out of Rome with regards to ecumenism, same sex, environmental focus groups and ecclesial women leadership over religious orders. I pray for wisdom for all, conversion on many levels, as I know physical efforts against the wave of erroneous teachings sadly have little effect now. Priests through action to lead their sheep to safety, even if the parishioners don’t have the capacity to fully understand the Good Sheppards words is really the only way now many church goers will be able to avert away from accepting apostasy as truth.
In summary I, like many appreciate and are drawn to your faithfulness in a spiritually darkening world. On this your anniversary of ordination, my prayer for you is that you persevere to help guide your sheep between the two pillars of faith as per St John Bosco’s vision - as I sense in my heart the coming storm for this generation only happens once.

While I was reading this post I was thinking about an analogy of a gym.
Why do people go to the gym? To get physically fit, right?
Why don't they just exercise at home? 1) Because they know professional instruction will help them get fit faster, without injury; 2) because being around others desiring physical fitness encourages them in their efforts; 3) because the example of the instructors helps them to learn what needs to be done, and how to do it; 4) because there is a higher sort of discipline required of them when they make a commitment to a class or personal trainer.
So, what if the gym changes ownership, and the focus changes from helping people become physically fit to "accompaniment" with them on their "journey to health," where the trainer never mentions unpleasant things like diet or exercise, nor encourages them to persevere in, let alone start, a training plan, but simply meets with them several times a week and engages with them in "dialogue" and "listening?"
Well, I guess that's some kind of nice in a banal kind of way, but it's not a gym anymore, but more of a paid friendship club for lonely, bored people who might like to be physically fit, but don't want to do all that sweating and changing of habits that would be required. And they believe that if they just pay their membership and show up a couple of times a week, they are going to magically become physically fit, because they're going to the gym, right?
So who would join a gym that isn't going to work with them and guide them to become as physically healthy as they can be?
And who would join a Church that isn't going to work with them and guide them to become saints, but only provide some kind of banal niceness to lonely, bored people that demands nothing from them?
The people that conceived of this and, even more so, those implementing it, are the epitome of evil.
(Epilogue: Remember, though, even if the gym stops providing the services to help one become physically fit, a person can still choose to do the things the gym used to teach, and get the same help the gym used to provide, and can still work to become physically fit, but the expectation that the gym will provide that help is unrealistic, until, of course, (which is bound to happen), it is taken over by new management who understands its original purpose and function. (wink))
Good analogy. I would add that both adhering to the V2 church & going to the gym are occasions of sin which should be avoided, the latter on account of how females dress in them. I use various dumbells & a chair at home & get pretty good results. For those who want to do the same, the proper sequence is warm-up, stretch, then lift, the first set of each exercise being a lighter warm-up set. Save time, save $, save your eyes from concupiscence-laden sights.
Well, since it is merely an analogy, we can set the parameters that the issue is not the near occasions of sin, assuming the danger exists in both places.
It is also not perfect in other ways, such as we go to church to worship God, not primarily to pursue self-improvement, although that is an aspect. Also, there is no analogy I can think of that gives us the same sort of benefit we get in the sacraments, which we can only receive from the Church, and that we cannot replace on our own.
Regardless, thanks for the at-home exercise tips. When you mentioned dumbells, I was afraid you might be bringing out another analogy with the Church. Glad I was wrong. :-)

Yesterday, incidentally, the first reading was the chaotic tale of Ishmael's conception (Gen 16). The readings, antiphons, collects of the mass always strike me as supremely relevant to whatever current situation or confusion is going on. What is the Deposit of Faith trying to tell us, each and every day? It's as if the stones cry out at Mass. I hope we're listening.

It is necessary that before the end times, before Christ's second coming, his kingdom in his Church should be reduced to such an extent that He "does not know whether she will find faith on earth" when he returns to the last judgment and promises the righteous a new earth and a new heaven.
And now, since 1969 at the latest, the 70 years haver slowly passed.
5) What we can do: daily full rosary, daily examination of conscience, confession to a valid priest and frequent initiation of perfect sorrow, going to valid Holy Mass, receiving Holy Communion, receiving spiritual communion often, performing forty-hour adoration of the sacraments in honor of the Holy Blood of Jesus, and learning the true Catholic faith every day.
