I keep going back to Lifesite News for clarity about this pontificate, and I keep getting none. Except today, it became clear why there is no clarion voice at Lifesite News: 65% of Americans hold a favorable view of Leo XIV.
And, that's the bottom line - literally. LSN doesn't want to lose its funding from donors. They'll play a waiting game until it gets so monstrous; then, and only then, will LSN swoop in and defend tradition (Catholicism) from big, bad modernist Rome. All the while, proclaiming, They had no clue! - Couldn't imagine! - He seemed so traditional!!
I walked from Lifesite News a couple of years ago. They answered my concerns about one of their writers, who had been publishing serial articles falsely accusing the government of using (non-existent) directed energy weapons on innocent crowds. Their response to my politely worded email questioning why they employed a mad science fiction writer on a Catholic news site was to ignore me then block me. From that I gathered that Lifesite News simply aren’t what they claim to be.
This is the kind of thing that makes me wonder if certain individuals and groups are simply plants who intend to make normal well-intentioned Catholics look ridiculous.
That occurred to me at the time, which happened to prior to the revelation that the FBI literally had informants placed in TLM parishes. But I still can’t wrap my mind around such deliberate mayhem at a Catholic news site popular with Traditional Catholics. Then again, think of the insurance value of one fringy weirdo at a controversial news org. Were Lifesite to break a scandal embarrassing or compromising the establishment, authorities could point to loony angry Mr. “Directed Energy Weapon Story” and quickly dismiss LSN as “that nutty Catholic conspiracy theory website.” The question is, who at LNS let the “nut” in the house?
The sad reality is that some traditional Catholics are really just that undiscerning when it comes to "conspiracy theories." I understand why these theories have their appeal: we live in an age of constant propaganda, untrustworthy institutions, and rampant media manipulation. And there are real conspiracy FACTS. The masses have been brainwashed because the brainwashers understand how human psychology works. The majority of people will go along with the prevailing narrative because we are simply social beings, most people just want to "get along" and are prone to groupthink, and the darkening of the intellect is one of the effects of the Fall. Some people become disabused of one narrative and end their blind obedience to one authority only to transfer this somewhere else.
In addition, traditional Catholics are still human and susceptible to the common trap of our age to be hyper-focused on partisan politics, constantly following the news and discussing current events. Obviously, these things are important, especially for the laity, whose duties of state bring them in contact with the political domain more so than for clergy and religious, but people need to keep their priorities in order. The goal of one's life is to save one's soul. And yes, participating in politics and helping to restore the social kingship of Christ does have an impact on the salvation of souls. But there also comes a point where perhaps one is spending an inordinate amount of time discussing social issues and neglecting the interior life. Spending an hour in an adoration chapel is going to be more beneficial than spending an hour researching the veracity of the moon landing.
But there ARE directed energy weapons. Whether used on crowds, I'm not sure but i wouldn't be surprized. They've definitely used them to start fires in various places, even melting vehicles while leaving trees unharmed.
You completely miss my point. We’re talking about Lifesite News. Millions of Catholics go there for reliable and factual reporting on the Church and issues that directly affect Catholics and the right to life. Yet they had a staffer publishing vague, rambling, unsourced stories without citation of any actual incidents or involved government agencies, let alone any information on the so-called “directed energy weapons” allegedly used. As an aerospace engineer with 40 years experience, I can say with authority the guy was ranting about portable weapons that simply do not exist. Being shut down and blocked for simply inquiring why Lifesite would carry such articles, let alone allowing such badly written crap, puts not just Lifesite’s integrity, but their honesty about their mission as a legitimate news site, into question. I hate that I had to spend this much time recounting what I consider a ridiculous and nonsensical episode.

Yeah they lost me too. That’s why I questioned it. The guy was trying to make a case that the government was using mobile directed energy weapons against crowds. Cited no incidents, cited no actual existing weapons or technology, and named no government agencies. The serial articles on the subject, written by a named LSN editorial staffer, read like they were transcribed off the walls of a lunatic asylum.
There seems to be a moratorium on criticism of this new pope by the usual Trad podcast voices. If they don’t turn that around soon they may as well just stay on the farm milking their cows and hiding in their basement offices.

RK, that has shaken me. I often see a photo of him with his birth - death dates in the little chapel of the Holy Name of Jesus in Providence. I try not to look at it because instead of it being a reminder to pray for his soul, it looks like a bon voyage card. If he actually did refuse the final Sacraments, it would dovetail in with his utter pig-headeness that Hell is “empty.”
This condescending attitude from liberal men trying to “uplift women” by promoting women's ordination is infuriating to me as a woman. As a woman and especially as a vowed virgin, I represent the Church. The Marian aspect of the Church is as important as the Petrine aspect, and women are not defective men. Popes have done wrong from a long back in governing according to the order of GOD JESUS CHRIST. It is not "from Pope John XIII onwards" in relation to the evils going on now. I walked from Lifesite News a couple of years ago. They answered my concerns about one of their writers, who had been publishing serial articles falsely accusing the government of using (non-existent) directed energy weapons on innocent crowds. Their response to my politely worded email questioning why they employed a mad science fiction writer on a Catholic news site was to ignore me then block me. From that I gathered that Lifesite News simply aren’t what they claim to be.

This is the kind of thing that makes me wonder if certain individuals and groups are simply plants who intend to make normal well-intentioned Catholics look ridiculous.
That occurred to me at the time, which happened to prior to the revelation that the FBI literally had informants placed in TLM parishes. But I still can’t wrap my mind around such deliberate mayhem at a Catholic news site popular with Traditional Catholics. Then again, think of the insurance value of one fringy weirdo at a controversial news org. Were Lifesite to break a scandal embarrassing or compromising the establishment, authorities could point to loony angry Mr. “Directed Energy Weapon Story” and quickly dismiss LSN as “that nutty Catholic conspiracy theory website.” The question is, who at LNS let the “nut” in the house?
The sad reality is that some traditional Catholics are really just that undiscerning when it comes to "conspiracy theories." I understand why these theories have their appeal: we live in an age of constant propaganda, untrustworthy institutions, and rampant media manipulation. And there are real conspiracy FACTS. The masses have been brainwashed because the brainwashers understand how human psychology works. The majority of people will go along with the prevailing narrative because we are simply social beings, most people just want to "get along" and are prone to groupthink, and the darkening of the intellect is one of the effects of the Fall. Some people become disabused of one narrative and end their blind obedience to one authority only to transfer this somewhere else.
In addition, traditional Catholics are still human and susceptible to the common trap of our age to be hyper-focused on partisan politics, constantly following the news and discussing current events. Obviously, these things are important, especially for the laity, whose duties of state bring them in contact with the political domain more so than for clergy and religious, but people need to keep their priorities in order. The goal of one's life is to save one's soul. And yes, participating in politics and helping to restore the social kingship of Christ does have an impact on the salvation of souls. But there also comes a point where perhaps one is spending an inordinate amount of time discussing social issues and neglecting the interior life. Spending an hour in an adoration chapel is going to be more beneficial than spending an hour researching the veracity of the moon landing.
But there ARE directed energy weapons. Whether used on crowds, I'm not sure but i wouldn't be surprized. They've definitely used them to start fires in various places, even melting vehicles while leaving trees unharmed.

Millions of Catholics go there for reliable and factual reporting on the Church and issues that directly affect Catholics and the right to life. Yet they had a staffer publishing vague, rambling, unsourced stories without citation of any actual incidents or involved government agencies, let alone any information on the so-called “directed energy weapons” allegedly used. As an aerospace engineer with 40 years experience, I can say with authority the guy was ranting about portable weapons that simply do not exist. Being shut down and blocked for simply inquiring why Lifesite would carry such articles, let alone allowing such badly written crap, puts not just Lifesite’s integrity, but their honesty about their mission as a legitimate news site, into question. I hate that I had to spend this much time recounting what I consider a ridiculous and nonsensical episode.

RK, that has shaken me. I often see a photo of him with his birth - death dates in the little chapel of the Holy Name of Jesus in Providence. The false prophet in the Book of the Apocalypse is depicted having horns like a lamb but speaking like a dragon. The two horns denote the two fold authority spiritual and temporal. Your extreme position, e.g. that Leo XIV is a valid but evil pope & that Leo XIII was also evil, could alienate some who are becoming convinced of the evidence for sedevacantism. Do you think Pius X thru Pius XII were also evil? When was the last good pope, in your opinion?
Based on the R&R idea that the teachings of VII need to be reversed, corrected, undone, changed, etc., even though a true Pope promulgated them, I wonder why this teaching of JPII can't be reversed, corrected, undone, changed, etc..
The R&R disposition towards the office of the Papacy and the Church, as is professed and practiced today, necessitates the existence of a fallible and defectible church. It literally makes it impossible for one to ever conclude the Novus Ordo, or whatever follows in the name of “Catholicism”, to be a false representation of the Gospel, the Church, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no matter what is taught from the Magisterium, since one will always have the excuse or precedent that the Church can be resisted when error is taught.
The only way to solve this dilemma is by acknowledging the total lack of authority the whole bunch had/have and move forward with electing a true Roman Pontiff and exalting Holy Mother the Church once again.
