Why do we make something so elegantly simple and beautiful as the belief that nothing is impossible for God a stumbling block for so many souls?? Downplaying or denying Christ’s supernatural abilities makes Him not True God from True God but Wise Teacher from True God and that gives us GMO NGO Catholicism. And how many people wishing to strip Jesus of His Divinity are all too ready and willing to entertain various occult practices in a horribly vain attempt to be as God knowing good and evil? No wonder we’re in so much trouble! Kyrie Eleison Christe Eleison!

"Christ was born utero clauso, as light passes through glass."

That is a wonderful analogy. I always thought of it like Christ being able to pass through a wall when He appeared to His apostles after the resurrection, but the light and glass imagery is much better.

I have only just now …..appreciated , this stunning quiet.

I was constantly stunned ( mentally ) by how anyone could believe this would be an impossibility for God.

I think my being stunned , was a defence against their clear unbelief in God.

Kaylene Emery's avatar

Because often it was the priests who took the “ impossible “ position.

I was very very enmeshed with my N. O priests.

I know what you mean. Looking back, for me there was always this sense of 'weirdness' and strangeness, best illustrated by finding out that JPII had put/allowed that buddha on the altar at Assisi. "Er, why on earth would a Pope do that?" Just didn't fit with my first few years of life, so totally off my Catholic radar. Of course those were pre-internet days so we couldn't search out more information on what was really going on, and it's only in the last 10 years that I've found out everything. Probably should have looked long before but was using the internet for other subjects and it never occurred to me that most of the clergy, in particular the 'top' end of it were complicit, wittingly or unwittingly, in full-blown heresy!!!

The mentality of even “trads” has shifted to the acceptance of modernist theologians who present a fig leaf of support for very basic concepts such as two genders only but insult the fundamental doctrines of the Catholic Faith without repentance. If this isn’t the Great Apostasy, what is?

FXM's avatar

You are correct Robert…sad

Robert Beaurivage's avatar

Yes, I am very sad about it but grateful to God that we have been given the truth and for those who witness to it, even now.

“He will send them the operation of error” — seeing the collapse of so many who were saying they’d stand firm and then fall for the most ridiculous sleight-of-verbiage is disheartening.

Longinus's avatar

Exactly my sentiments. Every time I see a certain Trad, Inc. operative posting about Leo on Facebook, I have the hardest time just scrolling by. (I know I'll regret it if I respond, it's so futile.)

Longinus's avatar

I'm Robert ... I see I'm logged in under Longinus. I must have made two separate accounts. :/

I didn’t know this about Muller. I always thought he was one of the good guys. After reading that long list of Catholic teachings that he doesn’t believe, it might be easier to find a Catholic teaching he does believe in. It seems he has over intellectualized everything until there is little faith left.

Chris Jackson's avatar

I know that a lot of people don’t know this about him. Trad websites are scrubbing past negative articles about him that lay this out. This is why I felt writing this piece was important. They are trying to rewrite history.

FXM's avatar

Just as many attempted to scrub Burke’s ordination of a tranny nun and hail him as a lion of Tradition (Lord have mercy)

Michael of the Cross's avatar

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora pro nobis peccatoribus.

Al's avatar

I never heard that before! When and where did this happen?

FXM's avatar

Chris Jackson in a post calls it ‘Burke’s trans nun amnesia’ 🤣🤣🤣 the story has been around for awhile but many trads caught the amnesia bug or as one I know told me “that was a long time ago’ (so was the Nativity and the Passion)

Shawn Albert's avatar

Yeah. exactly. That one got swept under the rug fast enough...

grace's avatar

What are the facts? What scrubbing?

Francisca's avatar

Yep, I didn't know all that until much more recently - had me fooled for a while - at least until I'd figured out that orthodox Traditional Catholicism isn't the same as 'conservative' Trad. Catholicism and that a lot of the latter are fine with VII.

FXM's avatar

Yes, unfortunately many Trads put on thier blindfolds, secure

in their Latin Mass cocoons and cannot bear to face the false and heretical pronouncements from Rome and even from the very pulpit where they attend the TLM as is the case here at a ‘Trad parish’ in NYC. To be an RC today requires one to be ever vigilant even among fellow Trads

After I discovered that the Catholicism I started life with still existed somewhere (!) and had started researching everything online, I remember reading something Mueller had written. It seemed even to me to be "not Catholic" as I knew it, but a lot of trad. outlets were praising him for his orthodoxy (still in his office) which I found just weird. So I put him out to grass, so to speak, until I understood it all better. I did that with many people. Mueller, like Kwasniewski, never came in from the cold. I started sticking to pre-VII sources almost 100%.

So this is another of those 'I thought there was something not right there' moments when I'm really glad that someone like yourself is confirming that I was right to ignore what he was saying. Thank you again!

John Hochstedt's avatar

Yeah, that’s how all progress to the real Faith is made — “something’s not quite right here”. I did it for years when I thought Mr Wojtyla was orthodox.

Francisca's avatar

Yes, and despite the horrors it uncovers, at least there's finally clarity! Sometimes, though, I just sit and cry for everything that has been destroyed.

Michael of the Cross's avatar

Personally, I find no error in Dr. Kwasniewski's recent writings as he seems to have changed. Being such a cerebral professional, his writings were a challenge to me at first as I do not have that level of intellectual capacity to understand all his meanings, though again, his recent writings seem to adhere to the traditional doctrine now.

Francisca's avatar

I received this reply from you but on the page, you seem to have been replying to John Hochstedt. There's a line straight down between his comment and your own. Could you just clarify who it was meant for? To be honest, I can't make head or tail of substack threads once they get past 2 or 3 lines, but I don't usually receive replies intended for everyone replying to a particular comment, if you understand me - I'm just confused.

Michael of the Cross's avatar

My apologies if I was not clear. I was trying to reply to your remark about Dr Kwasniewski where it seemed you put him into the same category as the heretic Mueller.

I agree with you that the lines attempting to connect threads together are not clear at all. Perhaps someone can point this out to the IT people at substack so they can correct is as it really is confusing which we do NOT need as the world is confused enough already.

Pax Domini Jesu Christu.

Francisca's avatar

No need for an apology! They do need to sort it - I’ve seen it turn a bit on another substack where someone responded to a troll but ‘appeared’ to be having a serious go at someone else.

I’m inviting you the Solemn Pontifical High Mass and Lecture with Cardinal Muller in Philadelphia on Sunday- November 2nd, 2025…(see link below) we will pay your expenses to attend. Hope you take up our invitation. God Bless.

"He (Muller) demanded recognition of the legitimacy of the New Order Mass"

What does that mean - the N.O. Mass is not legit?? Never?

Michael of the Cross's avatar

David, read Quo Primum by Pope Pius V. Then read and study Work of Human Hands by Rev. Anthony Cekada (deceased). They can lead you to a clearer understanding of the truth. Deo gratias.

Elaine's avatar

It isn't Catholic. If that doesn't make it invalid, reason and common sense don't matter.

Michael of the Cross's avatar

Thank you for all you do. It is so very important to those of us who are doing our best to hold firm in the Faith.

The "over intellectualized" covers EVERYTHING since the Council for me. Everything has too many words and not enough meaning, confused imagery and rabbit hole abstractions... seriously, has anyone here actually read the CCC? I can't get through it! I recommend it for insomnia! They all write for themselves as it seems they like to hear what they themselves say. They are sucking the air from any semblance of a flame of faith. I'm just drained.

Fr David Phillipson's avatar

Great handling of complex philosophical and theological issues. Your description of this cardinal reads like a textbook modernist. Anybody who wants to know what a modernist is just look at this cardinal as you have accurately described him. However, once again, you refuse to use the H word. A Modernist is a heretic because Pope Saint Pius the 10th defined modernism as heresy.

Fr David Phillipson's avatar

What you did was to judge his soul ( “his soul is in jeopardy”) and not merely stating a general truth. Be careful in moving from Truth in general to applying it to someone else’s interior life which you don’t have access to. So no, your conclusion does not follow. “The just man is the first to accuse HIMSELF.” Prov 18:17. External behavior can be just judged but not someone else’s soul.

Elaine's avatar

It's easy to point out the heresies but saying they are has consequences that it seems he isn't willing to face.

Fr David Phillipson's avatar

Agreed … but a little is better than nothing. 😊

Elaine's avatar

Only if sooner rather than later he accepts the truth; otherwise, his soul is in jeopardy. Don't you agree Father?

Fr David Phillipson's avatar

I understand that Truth is a divine imperative. I understand that St Paul agrees with you in Rom 13:11. I know what u say applies to me. BUT I don’t know his soul at all. I try to refrain from judging individual souls in a public setting - external forum.

Michael of the Cross's avatar

Thank you Father. Very helpful advice.

Elaine's avatar

If stating a truth is judging someone's soul, then the Modernist's are correct. Keep silent and leave everyone to believe as they wish with no care for their salvation.

St.T's avatar

It’s our politicians who continue to pass these abominations into law.

I think this is an interesting and disturbing case. I have to confess I made a rookie mistake here (being relatively new to the Church and the actors in it). Initially the interview seemed very pleasing to my eyes but then I read your tweet and I did some research (read some articles on NO watch) and actually went back and re read the interview and sure enough there was the language of the Church of Human Fraternity. Why I made this mistake is indicative of why he’s feted though - there is a natural human tendency to not want to feel you are alone or that people agree with you especially if you feel your point of view is being shared by someone in the hierarchy above you - it makes your view feel validated, legitimised and that is why he’s so seductive.

When I was a devoted but confused N.O. Catholic revert about 25 yrs ago, I prayed hard for discernment and understanding that the Lord might “clear the scales” from my eyes to see what was behind the scandals and contradictions I was witnessing in the Church. It was a hell of a thing to ask for. Very lonely place until I found kindred souls within the TLM communities.

Darrell Goodliffe's avatar

Bless you Brother. I am glad you have found a community that can nourish you spiritually. My Parish is Novus Ordo and I’m guessing the closest even whiff of a Latin Mass would be London. When I asked about the Latin Mass the local Father told me the Bishop didn’t “seem too keen on it”

Thank you Chris. Keep shining the light. Expose expose expose.

FXM's avatar

…and expose some more, so many want to believe where the evidence is crystal clear that the Faith is missing

I have been in the Church for about 26 years and learned very early on about C. Mueller's time in SA and involvement with and support of Liberation Theology. As unfortunate as this all is, the omission of the Filioque from the N. Creed took the prize for Apostasy. He essentially denied the Trinity. Couple this denial by omission with a book published that posits that Joseph is the actual father of Jesus, I think what these folks preside over is actually a Cult not the Church.

Patrick O'Brien's avatar

Then Cardinal Ratzinger said, "There is no one who is Catholic or wishes to remain one who can doubt the greatness, the richness, the timeliness of the documents of the Second Vatican Council." As Archbishop Lefebvre said in 1985, the Church is in the middle of a "battle between liberals."

Thanks for collecting all the awful bits in one succinct take. It's true: Burke, Müller, et al. were and still are really part of the problem. It all reminds me of that "philosophy" professor who wrote enthusiastically about trans-speciesism but committed the sin of "deadnaming" Bruce Jenner...a good liberal, committed to progressivism, but left in the dust overnight as the train of sped into horizons unforeseen.

OHHHHH MY GOODNESS!!!! A million thank yous for revealing what has been hidden for so many years!!! I remember when we were extremely worried when he was appointed to the CDF. And then he was always reported as doing really good things.

You have flushed a rat out of its nest. I’m so shocked and disappointed and so very grateful for your exposing him for who he really is.

Thank you! And God bless you! Again, I’m truly grateful that your writings have found their way into my emails!!!

Blessed be Jesus Whose mother is Mary!!!

Elaine's avatar

Anyone who is a member of the Novus Ordo/Vatican II/Conciliar/Synodal church is not Catholic. When one accepts that, one understands exactly why they say what they say and why they do what they do.

Men's Media Network's avatar

To quickly spot a heresy, look for where it compromises or denies Christ’s Divinity. From what Chris describes here, Müller’s writings pin the needle on the heresy meter and wrap it around the stop. To strain the hyperboles further, if heresy was a bacterial infection in the Church, Müller is an oozing hot pocket of bloody puss.

Kaylene Emery's avatar

Doesn’t that smile/smirk say it all.

Thank you for revealing these things.
