Cowardly bishops denied the sacraments to most during Covid. Two of my children were denied Confirmation at our FSSP parish on orders from Rome last year. Tired of this evil.
Sorry - I may be missing something. As you've mentioned it, can I ask why they were denied Confirmation? I'm assuming it didn't have anything to do with Covid? A bit confusing.
No that was after Covid. The kids were taking a class to prepare for Confirmation and word came from the Archbishop that Rome had said that Confirmation was not allowed for FSSP. I do not know whether or not this affected other traditionalist groups. No reason was given. It was just more maliciousness from Bergoglian Rome.
One of your best so far, Chris. It infuriates me what they're being allowed to do. And what they are doing is building the "ape" church, the false church that will fool many, while the True Church is forced underground. This has long been prophesied and we are now there. Voices like yours and those on this substack must never be silenced, even if but a lone voice crying out in the wilderness. We're definitely in the time of chasetisement and the only way out is the True Faith of Christ on earth in His Church Militant. Keep on fighting as if your soul depended on it because it does. God bless you mightily, Chris, and all those who listen to your words and do something about it. Refuse to be silent!
Actually, human experience in general is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. That's why that expression exists.
But in any case we should speak the truth not to get the grease but because truth is our primary good, our sine qua non. It is not permissions but the truth that sets us free. That's why Christ said that.
And let us never forget that St Paul instructs us that without a love of truth we cannot be saved.
This unsatisfactory state of affairs in the Church is what we have been told to expect. Fortunately, this is a test of our faith to be honest about where we are in relationship to Christ, and then move forward towards Christ despite the cost.
I think at least part of the problem with the AB position is they are mistaken about where we are at - Anthony will rightly talk about the Passion of Church as if we are somehow in its throes or even near its zenith - this isn’t the case because the height of the Churches Passion will only come when the Man of Lawlessness arises, we are in fact in the very early stages and it’s been the very early stages since Vatican II. You have to remember humans think of time in very small chunks because they die so what is a lifetime to us is a blink of an eye prophetically speaking.
Given the goings on in the wide world the advent of the son of perdition may not be as distant as it once was. But that said he isn't here yet, and there is absolutely no excuse for shutting up the way they all have. The course that Avoiding Babylon and others of their ilk have consciously chosen to take is disgraceful and embarrassing.
I agree but we are due a great catastrophe before the Man of Lawlessness arrives to prepare for his coming so we are at the beginnings of that. On the second point I fully agree, souls are at stake.
That is very perceptive what you said about the Vatican and the Sanhedrin. So many trad Catholics spend their time railing about the Jews and their betrayal 2,000 years ago that they forget that this time... we're the Jews.
I've been giving a lot of thought to what we can do to counter this evil besides fast, pray and churn out commentaries. Let's face it, for the most part our words fall on the ears of people who already agree with us . . . or on those who vehemently oppose us.
The vast, mushy middle -- the Novus Ordo pew sitters -- are blissfully ignorant. They like their easy new religion. Check the box for a 30-minute Saturday afternoon Mass and you're good to go. Maybe score some extra points by volunteering an hour to help illegal immigrants.
Sure, some of our brethren are waking up to reality, but in my experience they are reluctant to openly oppose or even quietly leave their modernist parishes. They are waiting it out, hoping for the best, "offering it up." Strictly speaking, they are not on our team, although they do sympathize.
We need to get in the pew sitters' faces in a big way. They need to know what has been lost and why. They need to be as outraged as we are.
We should tirelessly teach the children in our own homes in the true faith, while we ask God for His grace to protect our families, strengthen our faith, and enhance our senses’ ability to spot the evildoers’ tricks from afar so that we can alarm others and ready ourselves for the full blow of the big tide of apostasy that has been prophesied to come.
Well, I’m not in the sedevacantist camp—for me, that’s a bridge too far. We have a bad pope, but alas he is the pope. I don’t have to accept or obey his modernist views, but I have to stay safely in communion with the Holy Roman Church.
After we lost our diocesan TLM, I fled to the SSPX. In any case, sede or SSPX, we are preaching to our respective choirs about what’s wrong in the Church. Meanwhile the NO clergy and laity could care less that we have disappeared from their pews. They continue to prop up what has become merely another Protestant church, just like all the rest. It is maddening.
You hit the nail on the head in every way with this comment, ShowMe. I, too, get the feeling that the sede community is "spinning its wheels", digging itself ever deeper into the details of WHY and HOW the NO "Church" is an apostate ape of the true Catholic Church but never gaining any traction with those trapped in that false "Church".
Why is that? Let me give you an example.
I have good friends stuck in the NO Matrix who have taken the position that, even if they are "wrong" about staying within the NO "Church", God will forgive them their error because (a) sedevacantism is a highly controverted position, even within the community of its adherents, and (b) the decision to stay with the NO “Church” was made in "good faith" (no pun intended, although it probably should be). How do you reach people like that? They have no idea (or have never been taught) that they have a moral obligation to pursue the truth, especially in matters pertaining to faith and the salvation of their souls (Canon 748 (1)). How do you reach “Catholics” who have never been taught the Catholic faith?
Anyway, why is the sede message not getting out, or if it is, why do the results seem so meager? Surely after 100 years of Edward Bernays teaching us how to "crystallize public opinion", and after seeing how human behavioral psychology can be used to influence behavior in practice (the Fauxvid Scamdemic being the most recent example*), we have the necessary insights into "public relations" to mount an effective influence campaign based on truth rather than lies. And surely in the "Information Age" in which we live we have the tools to reach a mass audience. Are there any sedes in the PR space who can help with this?
And please, spare me the "two wrongs don't make a right" or the "we mustn’t stoop to using the enemy’s weapons” or “we need to let the truth win its own battles" or similar moralizing responses. If those who would rule us with lies can use human psychology against us, then surely modern insights into behavioral psychology can be used in support of truth.
* See James Corbett's video "Dissent Into Madness" at www.corbettreport.com for an excellent analysis of how dissent is pathologized into mental illness to keep control of a narrative. Are sedes not routinely characterized as "nutjobs"?
I would say the sede message is getting out and more and more people are accepting it. Considering the fact that so many Catholics did not know their faith even before Vatican II and those who came of age after it, clearly are not taught the true faith, it's similar to the time of the Arian heresy when very, very few realized it was a heresy and it lasted a very long time.
Also consider the fact that the Church has never experienced such a widespread and flagrant denial of many of the Church's perennial teachings, especially among the clergy and including the men occupying the Chair of St. Peter. It is unprecedented in Church history.
But it is also true that there are many more using the tools of social media and the Internet to teach people the truth. It will simply take time to educate them while praying fervently that God will give them the graces needed to open their minds and hearts to accept the reality that they have been deceived into believing the conciliar church is the Catholic Church.
Personally, I started listening to their podcast but had to turn it off. I pray every day for Pope Leo. the Remnant showed a few old clips of him as a priest...Fr. Provost spoke in a genuine traditional way. They asked, "Where is Fr. Prevost?" His silence is beyond disturbing. The last 100+ days of this pontificate can be compared to a silent movie. He dresses like a Pope but it is deceptive. He has had ample opportunity to speak. His silence is dark... very dark...His actions (appointments) are accomplices to promote the very attitudes which the Curia want changed.
You are correct, Chris. If we allow our attitudes to soften, suddenly the Catholic Church will slip further in deplorable errors.
The traditional legal maxim is qui tacit, consentire, meaning he who is silent consents. Neither Prevost nor any clergy can escape their obligation to God and to His Holy Church to defend every doctrine of the Church by being silent.
The vast majority of so-called popes, bishops and priests have not lived up to their obligation to defend every doctrine of the Church (the true Church) because they instituted new and heretical doctrines into the documents of Vatican II and these are the doctrines they defend.
That video of Father Prevost is from 2012 and on Youtube. He's certainly traditional when compared to say Father James Martin but not really when compared to Charlie Kirk. He laments how the secular media portray the homosex lifestyle too sympathetically, and proposes instead the promotion of 'mystery'. Well, 13 years later that mystery had evolved into well-garbed waffle pitched at the homosex community and its sympathisers. His policy is not to condemn sodomy, but to attract practitioners away from it with a form of words whose meaning isn't entirely clear.
Please direct me to any Church teaching that says She can slip into deplorable errors. The Catholic Church was divinely instituted by Christ and as such, can never teach that which is false and would lead souls into perdition.
Since the Cardinals and those in a position of authority cannot see the forest through the trees and refuse to admit where “we” stand as a Church, we have no choice but to make our voices heard, akin to Sts. Hildegard & Catherine of Siena to name two.
According to Natural Law, those in positions of authority have the obligation to defend Natural Law. By siding with Satan rather than defending God's Church, those in "authority" may have forfeited that authority by virtue of failing to fully live up to their sacred obligations. As a reference, see "The Limits of Papal Authority over the Liturgy" by Fr Chad Ripperger.
Those guys are easily influenced by lay 'Thomists'. Wagner is a full capitulator. Nick was at least SSPX and contra V2. They are now going to be Placating Babylon?
I actually remember him from the early Alt Right days, 2014? When a lot of lads were choosing Catholicism to ‘Revolt against the Modern World’ Evola style. He is in fact just ‘Riding the Tiger’. Their identity is wrapped up in the power of the papal office, its implicit monarchy/ anti-democracy. Problem is non of the NO popes wear the crown any more, only use their monarchal authority to crush tradition, and are worse than democratic,
So well said once again. If you ever need to supplement your day job, you could easily be a clinical psychologist, a family therapist or a writer of novels so understanding are you of the human person and how he (mal)functions in society. You also understand so well how the pulpit operates within the crisis of today’s church. This is one of the most important reasons for why a priest preaching cannot be under the Novus Ordo authority. And as a result, neither can the faithful if they want Catholicism instead of Freemasonry, dressed up as touchie feelie Religion. Again to your incomplete list, I would add not only must Vatican II be canceled but so too it’s non-Catholic “Mass.”
Obedience to apostasy is apostasy. To knowingly cooperate with a lie makes one a liar. To placate tyranny from a (former) position of power is to be a tyrant. How do these educated self-proclaimed Traditional Catholic men of "Trad Inc." (and many in their orbits) get past that? As someone who bought their books and cut my Trad Catholic teeth on their platforms... I'm horrified.
Aren't they themselves apostates by claiming to recognize as true and valid popes who have not the Catholic faith and have taught heresies and performed acts of public idolatry because they are being disobedient to them by resisting their teachings and thus disobeying Catholic teaching that we are to obey those in authority?
ANY "permission" can be revoked for any reason that those granting the permission decide is relevant. The fact is that our right to worship God in the Tridentine Rite was NOT granted to us by anyone, but is part of Natural Law which is God's divine will which the Catholic has defended until the abomination of VII. It is therefore irrevocable, regardless of what any heretic may claim, even be they a false pope.
Brilliant analysis and conclusion, Chris. The faith needs defense. We will entirely lose Catholicism if we are willing to make a deal with the devil so we keep our little TLM. Frankly nothing feels the same since Charlotte. How can we enjoy the Mass when they are deprived? It feels weong, and, the inevitability question arises. In truth, its not been the same since the China deal came out. Why should we experience the consolation of the TLM when our brothers and sisters there suffer. We see the betrayal there. But as long as we enjoy our little crumbs? The Holy Mass isn't theirs to hold hostage or to grant here and yank back there like a yoyo. The pope nor the magisterium "own" the TLM. We are wrong if we think of TLM like a product the store owner decides to limit. We were given the TLM by God for us but also the proper worship He deserves. No one has the right to take it from us, certainly not this lot. We need to start thinking of ways to provide the TLM without the permission of these blatantly non-catholic men. And appeasement? For the sake of crumbs? Never.
Cowardly bishops denied the sacraments to most during Covid. Two of my children were denied Confirmation at our FSSP parish on orders from Rome last year. Tired of this evil.
The top bishop called the shot an act of love. The new top bishop concurred. Disgraceful.
Advising people to kill their body is less of a disgrace than teaching them heresies and causing them to lose their souls.
Then they should be held personally accountable and liable for all injuries to the health people forced to take the bioweapon experienced.
They aren't cowards. They aren't true shepherds so they cannot think and act as if they are.
Sorry - I may be missing something. As you've mentioned it, can I ask why they were denied Confirmation? I'm assuming it didn't have anything to do with Covid? A bit confusing.

Thank you for the explanation - yes, just malicious. It’s weird, though, given that they are ‘diocesan’. Is it ongoing in that diocese?
Not aware of anything else. The Archbishop had presided over Confirmations in the past. There are two FSSP parishes.
Thanks!

'silence purchases permissions'

In our era it wouldn't take very long for a global catastrophe to occur
I agree but I don't do date setting, it's a game the Adversary plays with us actually, you cannot fit prophetic time into a human time line.
That is very perceptive what you said about the Vatican and the Sanhedrin. So many trad Catholics spend their time railing about the Jews and their betrayal 2,000 years ago that they forget that this time... we're the Jews.

Absolutely. And continue to pray for every lost soul wherever they are and in whatever falsity they believe.

True.
Consequently, anyone who teaches error is obviously not a part of the Catholic Church, even if that person is seen to be pope.
It can't as an infallible definition but it can in the ordinary magisterium .
Please cite any authoritive Church teaching that says the ordinary magisterium can teach errors (deplorable or otherwise).
Vat I:The extraordinary magisterium is infallible. Excathadra its also. Ordinary magisterium in not infallible.
The ordinary and universal magisterium is infallible NOT the ordinary//it is fallible//vat1

Whenever I see someone referring to himself as a “Thomist” in some way, I know he’s got zero clue about St Thomas, the Church or the real world.
Wagner is nothing but a NO shill and Popesplainer. He has no right to talk about Traditional Catholics.

In Hoc Signo Vinces!
The proposed idea that the the pope is not to rub the wrong way so he is more inclined to grant what is called for.
I understand that manner does affect how people reacts.
If this is the most important consideration, doesn’t it play to his human sense of self, than to what pleases God most?
Totally agree with this. And by now I think no one can doubt that the one behind this kind of "deal" is Burke.
Brilliant analysis and conclusion, Chris. The faith needs defense. We will entirely lose Catholicism if we are willing to make a deal with the devil so we keep our little TLM. Your right. The people on avoiding Babylon strike me as ignorant of the faith. They hit me as shallow.
