I just recalled attending World Youth Day in Toronto. Morning Masses at the various youth sites were attended to by a bishop. Once we had Cardinal George but another time we had a bishop from the Southwest. He began his “homily” by having us all stand. Then he had us turn to the north and he prayed. Then he had us turn to the South. At this point I recognized what he was doing viz. that he was praying to the Four Spirits in Indian worship. I sat down at that point. The other priest concelebrants came over to me and thought that I had taken sick and I said no. But I was sick. Sick in my heart for the Church. Fr. Prevost’s worship in these pictures is making my heart sick again for the Church.

“The only thing that must disappear is the Catholic instinct to recoil.” Well, that hope withers, for recoil I do.

Thank God I have my Rosary by my pillow… I would never sleep after reading about Leo (again, Jesus wept) so late at night. Thank you Chris for pointing out the ridiculous circlejerk comments meant to excuse the inexcusable.
